Engraving is perhaps the easiest way to personalise your wedding ring. Believed to have been a practice followed for years, while the history of engraving messages is not clearly known,
Jennie Ma, says in this article from the Knot
The custom of inscribing romantic poetry onto wedding rings began in the courts of medieval Europe. Today, engraving a message on the inside of the shank—even around the perimeter of the stone!—is one of the easiest ways to personalize an engagement ring or your wedding bands.
Over the years I have seen quite a few fancy requests for engraving, the most recent one being a customer who wanted “Remove When Going Fishing”on her husbands ring since he lost his first wedder while he went fishing.
Why get Engraving
Whether it be to serve a practical purpose or for a particular intention like this lady here who got “put it back on” engraved on the inside, or just to personalise and mark the ring different, engraving is truly a great way to have add a personal touch to your wedder.
Messages you can Engrave
There isnt really any rule or norm to follow in engraving your ring, especially if it is the on the inside, it is intended for the wearer.
As Joanna Cal says
Your wedding ring inscriptions can be just about anything that’s meaningful to you: a secret code you share, lyrics from a special song, your wedding vows, a private joke or even a reminder to “Put It Back On!”
